Volunteer admin support

Volunteering is a big department within TWAM. Many of our Front of House and Behind House programmes and projects accept the support of Volunteers and the huge range of skills, knowledge and unbounded enthusiasm they bring. TWAM volunteers need and deserve the support of a reliable team to make sure that they have documents, finances, name badges, incentive cards and all manner of other things when they need them. Our volunteer team consists of some 800 individuals taking on around a thousand roles annually. We need to record their activity and the generous in kind contribution that they give us.

Volunteering need a reliable person to take on a support role with some of the admin tasks that having such a wide team needs.

This role is, on occasion, high pressured and deadline driven.

We need someone to support the volunteer team on a regular basis and initially we would need you on a Thursday and Friday for half a day each week.

What's involved?

There will be work involving use of Excel as well as Word, so the ability to use both are necessary.

There is some written paperwork, plus printing and digital filing.

You will be asked to assist with gathering finance claims for reimbursement of travel expenses from Volunteers and assisting with the first stage of the process of payment with Volunteering.

You will also be asked to update activity sheets so that figures are compiled on a monthly basis.

This is usually a fast paced responsive department so you would benefit with being able to cope with that at all times.

There will be times when you will meeting and greeting new volunteers so reading, understanding and adhering to our policies will be vitally important. These can be found in the induction pack attached to your welcome email when you joined Volunteermakers.

NB, it would be beneficial that you don’t mind dogs. I share an office with a guide dog and his owner and you will be based in this office.

TWAM are piloting a National programme of revitalising/changing and challenging volunteering through Volunteermakers. You will be part of that!

You will be asked to come to a brief meeting in person or by phone call to discuss the role more thoroughly before decisions are made.
