The Shipley Art gallery is home to some outstanding works of art and one of the largest craft collections in the UK. This year the Shipley Art Gallery is launching a community garden space in collaboration with The Nest Café and Community rooms, a local social enterprise and community interest company. We are having a family opening event on Saturday 24th March 2018 where families will be able to make clay egg cups, bunting for the garden and take part in a chocolate Easter Egg hunt too.
We need someone to help with this event to assist families in their creative activities, help to organise materials and keep the garden looking tidy. Help will also be needed in-between the morning and afternoon sessions to restock equipment and get the space ready for group 2.
*Helping with set up of activities and materials
*Assisting with art and craft activities in the garden
*Helping to maintain the appearance of the space and making sure littler is tidied away.
*Assist with visitor access to the space and speak to visitors about the purpose of the community garden and its place within the Shipley.
Why get involved?
*Please note: we are happy to cover any volunteer transport costs involved with this role
It will be a great opportunity to develop a culturally significant project at the Shipley in collaboration with The Nest and be a great benefit to physical and mental health. It will be an opportunity to work with the Shipley, the local community and to meet new people. You will have the opportunity to develop existing skills, learn new skills and most importantly it will be lots of fun!
